OUGD601 - Dissertation - Primary Research Decisions

Due to the uncertainty surrounding how an aspect of primary research will coincide with this overall exploration it was necessary to further reason and identify where it would be appropriate to instigate primary research. This was due to the consideration that primary research is an aspect of which is crucial in diversifying my exploration.

In order to ensure that primary research was appropriately included within the exploration, as apposed to unnecessarily included I made the decision to have it constituting a vital part of the exploration. After some discussion within an individual progress tutorial between Richard and I the final decision was made that the primary research will fit in to my exploration by means of composing a chapter of my discussion. This chapter would include a systematic method of primary research in which a range of fashion editorials would be systematically analysed in order to identify the individual design aesthetics of which are implemented by the designers within the designing stage of fashion magazines.

This will act as the perfect means of primary research as it will allow me to have a first hand look at the aesthetics used within the designs and will directly correlate with the remainder of the exploration in which the design aesthetics outlined will be contrasted against the ideology of the magazines to gain an understanding in to how aesthetics are used as a means of aiding the content.
